Alternative program
The
embargo imposed on Iraq for more than a decade, and the pre- war situation
that the country now is facing, makes the webcam
in Iraq project face a range of new difficulties. Among other things,
the frequent cuts in the electric supply and problems with the connection
will most likely interrupt the transferring of images during some point.
That is why we preparing an alternative program, that we can show in the event of problems with the webcam. We are preparing material right now, but we need all the possible collaboration we can get! Artists, photographers, film makers etc who who want to contribute to stop the war in Iraq, get in touch with us! The videos, photos and messages received will be projected in public locations all around the world, and on this website. To sum up, the idea is to have an alternative channel, with the same objective as webcam in Iraq .
This channel will be used to substitute the webcam images if there is a problem (be it technical or political). In case of not having the webcam operative on february 15th, this alternative channel will also allow us to actively participate in the different demonstrations taking place around the world at this date
