Iraq prohíbe importar cámaras si no hay un permiso expreso para ello. Por eso, aunque la embajada iraquí en Madrid se mostró entusiasmada con el proyecto desde el momento en que se le presentó oficialmente, fue necesario negociar un permiso con las autoridades iraquíes en Bagdad.

Con este fin, una colaboradora de Webcam in Iraq se desplazó hasta este país entre el 2 y el 8 de febrero. En Bagdad se reunió, entre otros, con el Sr. Hashimi, presidente de la Asociación de la Amistad, Paz y Solidaridad, responsable de coordinar todos los proyectos de solidaridad con el pueblo iraquí.

Hashimi explicó que era “muy difícil” obtener el permiso porque el país se encontraba en máxima alerta. Sin embargo, dado su “interés”, lo trasladó al ministro de Cultura y ahí sigue el proyecto, en espera de aprobación definitiva.

Iraq prohibits the import of cameras if there is no explicit permit for such a thing. Therefore, although the Embassy of Iraq in Madrid has shown its interest in the project since the moment it was officially presented, it was necessary to negotiate a permit with the Iraqi authorities in Baghdad.

With that aim, a cooperate of the Web cam in Iraq reached even this country between 2nd and 8th of February. She met among others, Mr. Hashimi, the president of the Friendship, Peace and Solidarity Association, responsible of coordinating all the solidarity projects with the Iraqi people.

Hashimi explained that it was very difficult to obtain the permit because the country was at its top alert. However, he showed his interest, handed it to the Minister of Culture and the project still remains there, waiting for to be definitely approved.
